Dominican Republic

A flight from the Dominican Republic, which I will not forget for a long time ...

Drunk brawler on board the plane, turbulence and a terrible thunderstorm

PIt's been a few years now, but this incident on a plane from Punta Cana Dominican Republic to Moscow, is still clearly reproduced in my memory and it is unlikely that I will ever forget it. Below, in the course of the text, I think it will become clear why.

Arrival in the Dominican Republic and a rich vacation in the Caribbean

First, a few words and a photo with background. This will simply explain the further situation and make everything more understandable. And so, it was another, third trip to the Dominican Republic. The flight there and the rest was not to say amazing, but definitely a solid four.

Upon arrival at the airport, we were already habitually met by girls with fruit baskets on their heads, and local musicians habitually played an incendiary Caribbean melody.

Rest, as I said, was positive. Having tasted plenty of beach relaxation, we decided to catch up on excursions missed on previous trips.

We went to Santo Domingo, explored the streets of the old city, took pictures at the main church of the country. Then we got on the bus, arrived and went down to the famous underground lakes of Tres Ojos in the caves of the park with the name "Mirador del Este".

We also wandered around the town of Altos de Chavon, aka the city of artists on the river of the same name. The river itself is known for the fact that it was on its banks that an unforgettable film about a brave boy named Rimbaud was filmed, which has become a classic.

We also went on a sightseeing tour in jeeps, visiting a cane, coffee and cocoa plantation, as well as from a dozen more hyped sightseeing places.

In general, enjoyed the rest to the fullest. I tell all this in order to describe my general psychological state. And it was rich, joyful and satisfied. It was in this state, on a positive wave, that we set off for the return flight ...

Return flight from the Dominican Republic and a huge portion of negativity

The flight began without any problems and its beginning did not bode anything negative in the future. They took off softly. We calmly and smoothly climbed and the usual "migratory life" began, as in any other flight over long distances.

Three or four hours after the start of the flight, when it was already midnight in the Dominican Republic, I woke up from a noticeable shaking of the plane. Flight attendants bustled about the aisles, reassuring passengers with information about standard turbulence.

But in my opinion, this very turbulence was not so standard. I'm not exaggerating, but the shaking was actually more noticeable than it had happened to me before. The sensations from this whole turbulent situation were exacerbated by numerous lightning flashes sparkling behind the windows of the windows. In general, the picture and sensations are unpleasant. But it turned out that this was only the beginning...

After a couple of minutes, I heard a noise, excited voices and some pops a little ahead down the aisle. Getting up, I saw a man who was moving along this very aisle and handing out "cuffs" to the passengers from right to left.

As it turned out later, he was practically insane due to serious alcohol intoxication caused by the use of a standard bottle of corn drink in one person, which was so fond of the old hunter Zebulon Stump from The Headless Horseman.

The man was hysterical, shouting something incomprehensible and moving forward, but then the airline employees arrived in time, who managed to interrupt his crazy procession. However, the man was not so simple and was not going to give up immediately. Taking advantage of the limited space, he went on the defensive and, hissing angrily, began to back away towards the aisle with the toilets.

Around these same toilets, the climax of the plot unfolded. It was there that the man got into hand-to-hand combat with the stewards. And now imagine the fullness of the whole picture. As one famous movie hero of the television series Liquidation said - “Oil Painting”.

Lightning behind the windows, wild shaking from turbulence, real hand-to-hand combat with blows and drops of blood, screams of women and a crowd of passengers who got up from their seats, excited almost to the limit. Tension hung in the air and was felt physically... It was a strange feeling, but I felt people's fear and panic as something material. That moment is stuck in my memory...

However, this situation lasted a little more than one minute. But it is interesting that this very single minute, according to my subjective impressions, stretched for at least five minutes.

How did the unpleasant story of the flight from the Dominican Republic end?

What's next? Everything is simple. A couple of minutes later the man was rounded up. They put him in plastic handcuffs and tied him to a separate chair in which, after about five minutes, he, grunting, sniffed safely, probably remembering his wonderful vacation in the Dominican Republic. The storm front is gone and the turbulence is gone. In general, everything ended with a happy ending.

I can’t remember anything more serious in my numerous flights, and this is probably for the better. Have you had similar or other negative situations in flights? Write in the comments!
