Indonesia

Indonesia is a country located in Southeast Asia. It is the largest island country in the world. It consists of approximately 17.5 thousand islands. According to statistics, about 6 thousand of them are completely uninhabited. The five main islands of the country that make up the archipelago of the Greater Sunda Islands are Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo), Sulawesi (Celebes) and Irian Jaya (Indonesian Papua New Guinea).

Indonesia also includes the archipelagos of the Lesser Sunda Islands (Bali, Lombok, Sumba, Sumbawa, Flores, Timor) and Maluki (eg Halmahera, Seram). The diversity of territories is accompanied by a diversity of cultures and religions. Indonesia is also home to many unique species of fauna and flora.

The most popular island among tourists is Bali. Despite the fact that the whole of Indonesia is full of beautiful beaches and coastal towns, tourists love this place the most. It is here that the largest and most visited by tourists resorts are located. Bali attracts not only with its beaches, but also with the unique culture and traditions that its inhabitants adhere to. Bali is called the Mecca of Surfing. Most resorts are located in the south of the island. In fact, the south of the island is a tourist enclave where the airport and most of the hotels are located.

It is difficult to talk about Indonesia as a whole. The diversity of religions, cultures and attitudes means that each of the islands or parts of it has something unique and appealing to it. Indonesia is not only cultural monuments, but above all beautiful views and wonders of nature. It's hard to choose the most important places to visit because you can't see everything even on a long trip.

Everyone is looking for something of their own here, someone goes in search of relaxation on the beaches, someone wants to learn about the culture of individual peoples, someone wants to explore unique samples of fauna and flora, someone is interested in trekking through unexplored equatorial forests or peaks volcanoes. Traveling in Indonesia is quite easy and relatively cheap. That is why it is worth thinking about a long vacation in this country and visiting at least some of the islands. It is worth visiting Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra, Flores, Komodo, Kalimantan and Irian Jaya. And this list does not mean that other islands are not worth visiting.
